ST. LOUIS - A surveillance video captured what went down on March 5, 2019, from the argument to the shooting in the parking lot. It all happened during an intense courtroom testimony that was interrupted when the accused passed out.Medics responded in the middle of day three of the trial of Larry Thomlison. The 70-year-old defendant seemed to lose consciousness, and the judge ordered the courtroom to be cleared. Thomlinson refused treatment, and the testimony continued over his shooting of an Amazon delivery driver in a St. Charles Target parking lot.Thomlison is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in the shooting that paralyzed 25-year-old Jaylen Walker from the waist down. Walker was in the courtroom in a wheelchair, sitting less than 10 feet away from the man who shot him. O'FALLON, Ill. - Dave Roberson was 12 years old when he lost his father. A few years later, his mother died. His bicycle helped navigate him through those difficult times.“Biking was a very big part of how I stayed connected with my friends,” Roberson said.He said that cycling has been a great stress reliever.Years later, cycling helped Roberson and his neighbors connect during COVID-19 lockdowns. The connection led Roberson, his neighbor Jesse Rochman and their spouses to launch Roads To Giving.The charity aims to raise money, so bicycles can be purchased for kids. The initial goal is to raise enough money for 100 kids to receive a bike. The hope is that the number will steadily grow. First public meeting held for proposed 100-men shelter in Carondelet

LOUIS - More than 100 people filled the basement of the Carondelet Public Library Thursday night to voice their support and their concern about a potential 100-men shelter coming to their neighborhood. The shelter proposed by Peter and Paul Community Services is still in its early stages. Police are investigating a triple-shooting in South Los Angeles on Thursday night.Officers received reports of a shooting on the 700 block of Imperial Highway around 8:04 p.m., said Los Angeles police.When officers arrived, they found three victims injured, authorities said. Xylazine in illicit drugs increasing overdose risk

The Los Angeles Department of Public Health has issued a health alert that warns residents of the increased risk of overdose and death associated with xylazine, which is becoming more present within illicit drugs in California. Xylazine is a sedative and muscle relaxant used by veterinarians to anesthetize animals. It can be cooked down into a powder form and mixed with illicit opioids such as heroin or fentanyl or pressed into counterfeit pills or sedatives. When mixed with opioids and depressants, xylazine’s effects, which include sedation and respiratory depression, can lead to a fatal overdose. Xylazine was detected in San Francisco and San Diego drug samples in 2023, which may indicate that it is “most likely present within the drug supply in Los Angeles” according to the Department of Public Health. The Department of Public Health also warns that most people purchasing illicit drugs are not seeking xylazine and that they will most likely not know that it is present i...

HUMBOLT COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) -- As winter weather continues pummeling Humboldt County with precipitation, herds of cattle are left stranded in snow without access to food. Several feet of deep snow and downed trees blocked local ranchers from reaching their cows, and the ranchers alerted county officials of the dire situation. "We’ve had some unprecedented weather over the last two weeks, and we’ve received multiple reports of cattle dying off because ranchers cannot get to their cows due to impassable roadways," Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal said. "These cattle are an economic driver, they’re starving and they’re calving right now. So all those things necessitate some drastic measures."Honsal said, "We won’t know until the snow melts how many cattle have died due to these conditions.
