ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. - A Collinsville woman has been charged in connection with a man's overdose death earlier this year. A federal grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday, charging Tessa Webber, 25, with one count of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death. According to court documents, the victim's roommate found him deceased around June 11 in Fairview Heights. Police began investigating and learned that the victim has a history of substance abuse. Messages indicated the victim bought drugs from Webber, including two fentanyl pulls on June 9. The man a Westminster police officer shot and killed Oct. 1 during a struggle at an apartment complex pulled out a gun while the officer was tasing him and appeared to point it at another man, newly released officer body-worn camera footage shows.Just before 8 p.m. Oct. 1, officers were called to the 1400 block of 116th Avenue about a man throwing things off a balcony and damaging cars in the parking lot, according to a news release from the Westminster Police Department.When the first officer, identified in the news release only as Officer Phelps, arrived, three apartment residents had a man pinned to the ground, and a fourth resident told the officer the man was screaming and hitting walls, the footage shows.The officer asked the man to lay down on his stomach with his hands out and began reaching for his Taser, then the footage shows the man reached into his pocket and grabbed a gun.The officer tased the man and yelled for him to drop the gun. Former Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters this week sued state and federal officials — including U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland — seeking to stop any criminal investigation and prosecution of her related to her conduct in the aftermath of the 2020 election.The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Denver on Monday, alleges government officials violated her constitutional rights through their investigations into her alleged misconduct as an election official.The lawsuit comes months before Peters is scheduled to stand trial in Mesa County. The first part of the low-pressure system that has been churning off the California coast is making landfall on Southern California Wednesday, bringing with it some gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms. Disneyland has updated its Guest Pin Trading Etiquette policy in order to enhance visitors’ experience.“We regularly evaluate and adjust our policies and operations. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- One person was arrested Wednesday after police responded to a report of a person with a suspicious device at San Francisco Centre Mall, the San Francisco Police Department said. Defensive midfielder Alex Loera has become the first player for Bay FC, the National Women’s Soccer League expansion team set to begin play next season in the San Francisco Bay Area. Loera, who played at Santa Clara, was acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Current in exchange for $175,000 in allocation money and protection from Bay FC in the 2024 expansion draft.Loera was captain of the Broncos when they won an NCAA championship in 2020.
