Colorado’s economy is still growing, but it is losing momentum, leaving it vulnerable to outside shocks and a recession later this year, according to the latest ColoradoCast from Colorado State University.“I wouldn’t say this one right now is a recession forecast, but the risk of having a recession has increased with this one,” said Phyllis Resnick, executive director and lead economist at CSU’s Colorado Futures Center, which prepares the short-term outlook.Although still holding its own, the Colorado economy is much less resilient than it was last year. An economy growing at 3% or 4% a year can better withstand an outside shock, say from a disruptive war or an unexpected wave of bank failures, than one that is closer to stalling, Resnick said. The ColoradoCast looks at six indicators — home prices, temporary employment hiring, stock market performance, yield spreads, the premium for risky corporate bonds, and initial unemployment insurance claims —...4 new and under-the-radar spots for dumplings, noodles and ramen

When Xiaolong Hao first moved from Los Angeles to Denver more than 10 years ago, he took notice of the “Welcome to Colorful Colorado” sign at the state border. It’s partly what gave him the idea for the colorful soup dumplings he now serves at Bryan’s Dumpling House. Each of the eight colors represents a different style of regional cuisine in his native China and each has its own flavor. “This is more about Chinese food culture,” Hao said in an email to The Denver Post. “I want to let people know more about [it] by having real Chinese food.”So the soup dumplings at Bryan’s, which Hao opened with his wife, Carina Wang, in March (and is named for their son), are just the beginning. The menu also includes mapo tofu; Szechuan-style dan dan noodles with peanuts, scallions and pork; stir-fried shredded pork loin in black bean sauce; as well as regular dumplings in chili oil, shu mai and barbecue pork buns.Xiao Long Bao (8 regional flavo...RTD cancels purchase of 17 electric buses it doesn’t have space to maintain — and orders fleet transition strategy

Metro Denver’s transit agency pulled the trigger in late 2021 on what its leaders hoped would be the first of many moves to replace the more than 1,000 diesel buses on its regular routes with zero-emission vehicles. But the Regional Transportation District’s leaders found themselves Tuesday in the awkward position of canceling an $18 million deal for 17 new electric-powered buses — even as they reaffirmed their goal of converting the entire fleet in coming decades. The reason: RTD’s maintenance and operations facilities lacked enough space to charge, maintain and store those new buses and their specialized equipment. That was something discovered after the contract was signed with New America Flyer, said Debra Johnson, RTD’s general manager and CEO.Agency officials estimated it would cost roughly $85 million to construct a new building at one of its maintenance facilities, one that would hardly accommodate RTD’s future needs as it buys more electric...Colorado’s big snowpack powers massive “pulse” of water being shot through Grand Canyon

A huge amount of the water that flows down from Colorado’s snowy mountains into the West’s depleted Lake Powell reservoir is rocketing out of pipes this week to power a massive, simulated flood through the Grand Canyon — the first one in five years to try to revitalize canyon ecosystems the way nature once did.Federal operators of the Glen Canyon Dam atop the Grand Canyon opened jets to begin this surge before sunrise Monday, sending what they described as “a pulse” of water whooshing through the Colorado River as it curves through the base of the canyon.U.S. Bureau of Reclamation officials said they’ll maintain the surge until Thursday evening, ensuring a flow for 72 hours at 39,500 cubic feet per second of water. This “High Flow Experiment” will require 270,000 acre-feet of water, federal officials said — enough to sustain more than half a million households for a year. By comparison, Denver Water typically captures 290,000 acre-feet of wat...Top 10 Midget OnlyFans & Best Midget Only Fans 2023
